In a nutshell
A year apart, both Pros, and Apple changed more than usual. The 17 Pro swaps titanium for an aluminium frame and adds a 48MP 4x telephoto, an 18MP front camera, 12GB of RAM, a bigger battery and a 40W adapter that takes it to 50% in 20 minutes. The 6.3-inch 120Hz ProMotion screen carries over, just brighter.
The 16 Pro suits you if you want the Pro screen and a 5x zoom, and you charge every night anyway. The 17 Pro suits you if battery life is your biggest phone complaint, you take a lot of selfies, or you want the longest run of updates.
