What Apple's published specifications say about the iPhone Duo:

• Inner display: A 7.6-inch OLED at 2670 x 1878 and 430 ppi with ProMotion up to 120Hz. Its nano-texture finish cuts reflections and makes the crease less visible.
• Cover display: A 5.4-inch OLED at 2034 x 1398 and 460 ppi, also 120Hz. Both screens reach 3000 nits outdoors and support Always-On.
• Design: A grade 5 titanium frame and a hinge made from more than 100 components, with a hinge cover 3D-printed from recycled titanium. It is 5.2 mm thick open, 11.3 mm closed and weighs 254g.
• Durability: IP68 to 6 metres for 30 minutes. Ceramic Shield 2 covers the front of the cover screen, and the inner screen sits under a polymer Apple says is up to 40% stiffer than other materials in the industry.
• Chip: The same A20 Pro as the iPhone 18 Pro, with a 6-core CPU, a 7-core GPU and a dual 16-core Neural Engine.
• Cameras: A 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultra wide. There is no telephoto lens, and 2x is a crop from the main sensor. The cover screen has a 12MP Center Stage camera and the inner screen an under-display camera.
• Battery and charging: Up to 31 hours of video on the inner screen, 44 hours on the cover screen and 24 hours of typical use, from two batteries. A 60W adapter takes it to 50% in around 20 minutes, and MagSafe and Qi2 charge at up to 25W.
• Touch ID and eSIM: Touch ID in the side button works open or closed, and there is no Face ID. The Duo is dual eSIM only, with no SIM tray.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max shares the Duo's A20 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, 256GB to 2TB storage and IP68 rating. Past that, you are choosing between a better camera and a bigger screen.

• Screen: One 6.9-inch screen on the Pro Max, against the Duo's 7.6-inch inner and 5.4-inch cover screens.
• Cameras: The Pro Max adds a 48MP 4x telephoto and a variable-aperture main camera. The Duo has neither.
• Battery: Up to 43 hours of video on the Pro Max. The Duo manages 31 on the inner screen or 44 on the cover screen.
• Build: Aluminium at 249g on the Pro Max, titanium at 254g on the Duo.
